Stelmi 500 Chrome Plated Steel Bars: Team Tube is a National Stocking Distributor for Stelmi America’s Chrome Plated Bars. Stelmi Chrome plated bars utilizes an innovative and technically superior continuous plating process. The process results in bars that offer 500 proven hours of salt spray corrosion resistance. This Stelmi process provides a chrome plated layer that is extremely uniform and dimensionally consistent down the entire length of the bar with “no mill ends”. The net result is an extended piston rod service life.
- Common grades AISI 1045/1050 (or 10v45 steel)
- Typically meets ASTM A108, A311 Class B
- Offered in Standard chrome plated and Induction Hardened Chrome plated
- Size range 1” to 5” Diameter
- Stocked in 12’ – 24’ lengths
- Chrome plated hardness of 67 to 72 Hrc.
- Chrome plated surface finish of 16Ra maximum
- Cut to length service available
- Stocked chrome plated minimum thickness per side: 0.001” (500hr) or 0.0015”(1000hr)
- Precision tolerances and surface finish.

- Offered in 75k and 100k minimum Yield Strengths
